We read three great books in July with three strong female protagonists. Are you most like Esme Lennox, Lena Fleet, or Mamah Borthwick Cheney? Why?
In Loving Frank the women's movement played an important part in Mamah's life. Do you think she would be satisfied or horrified by where women's rights is today?
In Gods in Alabama, Lena Fleet made three promises to God. Have you ever made God a promise? Did you keep it? Why or why not?
Do you think Esme killed her sister at the end of The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox?
Which book was your favorite? Why?

I really liked all three books. They were all different and easy to read. My favorite was Loving Frank, because it was true and had such a shocking ending.I am most like one of the loony tunes in The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox. I am just not sure if its Kitty or Esme, HaHa!
I have found that it depends on what day one might ask me which book I liked the best. Most of the time I choose Loving Frank because it is based on real people. I went online and researched the events.
I'm not sure which character I'm most like, but I see traits of each residing within me. Since all books contain conflict within families we can identify with each character on some level.
It was an interesting selection; very different in context. I found Loving Frank a little slow at parts but was very shocked at the end. I think any book that makes me research the topic is a winner. Do I think Esme killed her sister - without a doubt! 60 years of waiting for revenge!
